We have fostered a happy and harmonious atmosphere at Mooloolah Lodge. Visitors are always made welcome! The Lodge members work hard at fundraising to make significant donations to local charities.
In addition to Lodge meetings we believe in involving families and friends in activities that range from get-togethers after meetings to fundraising for worthwhile causes. Our annual special events include:
‘Christmas in July’ banquet following our meeting in July, 'Steak and Stubby' night following our meeting in October, Breakfast at Coco’s Beach Café on the Monday of the Queen's Birthday long weekend in October and the Christmas Party for members, families, and friends - Santa always makes an appearance to give the kids an early Christmas present. Contact the Lodge Secretary for more details.
In March 1925, at a meeting held in the Public Hall, it was agreed by those present that Mooloolah needed a Masonic Lodge. Those present included local farmers and people who worked in the saw mill. Some were already Freemasons who were members of other Lodges in the region.
The Grand Lodge authorised Mooloolah Lodge no 334 in August that year and, following the consecration and installation ceremonies, an installation banquet took place at Mooloolah Public Hall. According to newspaper articles of the day, 43 visiting Masons were greeted by blue and white streamers, potted palms and tables decorated by the members and wives.
Freemasons are a diverse group of men from all walks of life, from many religions and many backgrounds. Becoming a Freemason is a commitment to develop your own potential, to values that see all humankind as equal, and to helping others in our community.
