Character of our Lodge

Our Lodge was originally formed by the businessmen of Cairns, and now includes many tradesmen and services personnel.

Lodge events

We believe in involving families and friends in activities that range from get-togethers after meetings to fundraising. We regularly conduct sausage sizzles at retails stores, enabling us to make contributions to local causes

Our history

Temple Memorial Lodge was consecrated in 1934. The inaugural Master was Charles Woodward (Snr) who was followed into the Lodge by his sons Gordon and Jack. Woodward Retirement Village (previously owned by Masonic Care Queensland) was named after the family, which would not have been possible without their generous support.

They established a great tradition of philanthropy for the Lodge and we remain a Lodge with a strong focus on charity.

Lodge Meetings

Freemasons are a diverse group of men from all walks of life, from many religions and many backgrounds. Becoming a Freemason is a commitment to develop your own potential, to values that see all humankind as equal, and to helping others in our community.
