Character of our Lodge

A progressive lodge with a strong social and charitable program. Camp Hill Lodge has a keen focus on masonic education, maintaining a high standard of ritual work and maintaining a close bond between members.

Lodge events

In addition to Lodge meetings we believe in involving families and friends in activities that range from get-togethers after meetings to fundraising for worthwhile causes.

Our history

In June 1945 members of Dennistoun Lodge met to discuss the formation of a new Lodge at Camp Hill because the Dennistoun Lodge (which met in Fortitude Valley) was so busy and had well over 100 members.

Greenslopes Lodge was approached to sponsor the new lodge but they declined because they felt it inappropriate that none of the prospective members lived in the Camp Hill area. An amended proposal was presented to Norman Park Lodge and they agreed to sponsor it.

The Lodge was consecrated on 9 November 1946 and records for December that year show there were 38 members. In 1947, the Lodge bought land at the Belmont Tram Terminus in Camp Hill but, before a new temple could be built, it was decided to meet at the Stones Corner Temple and the land was resold.

The Lodge still meets at Stones Corner and now has members from across Brisbane - from Logan Village in the South to Bracken Ridge in the North and Springfield Lakes in the west.

Freemasons are a diverse group of men from all walks of life, from many religions and many backgrounds. Becoming a Freemason is a commitment to develop your own potential, to values that see all humankind as equal, and to helping others in our community.
